What N.C. surfer chicks do when the water is 59 degrees and flat!
A bunch of us got together for our 3rd non-annual “Chicas” Bike Ride to celebrate a special birthday and each other. As we were about to pull out of my driveway, a Sheriffs car pulled up with lights flashing.
Uh oh, we’re we busted for something?
Community Service Officer “Trish” Speakman got out of her car and came over to us and said “I just wanted to see what was going on here, it looks like too much fun!” Then she took a couple photos with us, turned on her lights and led us down the street before turning away for more serious duties!
She was so cool and we were reminded that we’re all just humans doing our jobs, doing our best to get along, to be kind to one another, and have a little fun.
Speaking of FUNny -
We agreed to head south and stop for surf checks at Swamis, San Elijo campground, the reef, and finally Seaside. Just as we were approaching the Swamis parking lot, a non-surfer among us (who shall remain nameless but forever take sh*t for this) suddenly peeled off, sprinted across the Coast Highway and parked her bike at Swamis CAFE. Hilarious!
What a blessing to live in this cool town!
